Is there support for JDBC? How could databases be connected via JDBC?

E2E Bridge has no special JDBC adapter. You have to write Java code which can access JDBC and use the E2E Bridge Java adapter.

The SQL adapter does support a lot of databases and ODBC. What is the special requirement to use JDBC (database which we do not support or missing feature of the SQL adapter)?

A customer has partnered with a company called InterSystems. Their flagship product is an object-oriented database called Caché. There does not seem to be any kind of API that we can call to talk to their database directly, but they do allow us to talk to it via JDBC.

The customer thinks a lot of their customers would be interested in the Bridge and that is why they were wondering about a JDBC adapter.

Caché by InterSystem supports odbc. why not connect over odbc?

We don’t support JDBC now. The only workaround would be to use the JavaAdapter. But in this case, one cannot build a generic adapter, because each each IO has to mapped to a Java class.
