A new maintenance release of the E2E BRIDGE has been released. With this first edition of our E2E Developer Newsletter this year we inform you about the latest features and bug fixes of the E2E BRIDGE software components. As usual, you find all details in our release notes that are provided in our Online Documentation.
This release comes with two major features:
The obvious way to speed something up is to do less work. Every SQL Query requires a round-trip to the database server and back – therefore we focused on reducing the number of executed SQL Queries. We achieved to reduce that number by 15.10%.
Our performance test on different database systems showed that this reduction of 15% maps to the reduction of processing times.
Mainly slower DBMS systems benefit from this: MySQL became 20%, SQLServer 25% faster. Oracle is still 10% faster. In general, that means that services depending heavily on Persistent State become more responsive.
E2E BUILDER provides several documentation features to support different kinds of users:
Modelers can provide an xUML service documentation that helps the operator understanding the purpose and features of the service:
The operator also can add his own custom notes:
Please note that Microsoft has announced EOL of Windows Vista for 11.04.2017. As we already announced in May 2016, as a consequence we are forced to drop Windows Vista from our list of supported operating systems due to technical implications as of the mentioned date.
Please also note that the E2E BRIDGE API (see E2E Bridge API) has now reached stable release status. As of this BRIDGE version we guarantee backwards compatibility.
