    Dear  E2E Bridge Users,

With this edition of our E2E Developer Newsletter we inform you about the latest features and bug fixes of the maintenance release for the E2E Bridge software components. As usual, you find all details in our release notes that are provided in our Online Documentation.

Please note that E2E Builder and E2E Server on all operation systems in version 6.0 are distributed in 64bit only. For the development environment this means, that used client libraries (for instance for databases) must be 64bit as well. You have to install MagicDraw 64bit as well.

What’s new: The release provides additional capabilities in different areas, as well as bug fixes. These are the highlights:

    E2E Console:

    E2E Runtime:

    E2E Runtime 2014.3 and 2014.4:

    • Support added for Node.js: The Bridge is especially well suited for integration services like for example a SOAP service integrating legacy systems, data bases, and so forth. However, more and more enterprises have to address new integration challenges, such as:
      • Integrating mobiles requiring high scalability, support of mobile push protocols for Apple (APNS), Google (GCM), and Microsoft (MPNS), etc.
      • Building complex collaborative HTML UIs based on WebSockets, REST, OAuth2, and other web protocols.
      • Supporting devices such as smart meters using protocols that have been designed especially for the Internet of Things such as MQTT.

While there is more than one technology meeting these requirements, we think services based on Node.js are a very good match because it is a software platform especially designed to build scalable network applications using JavaScript. Furthermore, there are many packages freely available implementing the above mentioned protocols and there is a big community providing tutorials, documentation, and more and more new packages.
For more details please refer to our online documentation:http://docu.e2ebridge.com/Managing+Node.js+Services

    • Improvements for the JavaScript adapter.
    • JsonToClasss() works correctly with DateTime objects now.
    • With log level “Debug”, SOAP requests and responses were not written in chronological order. This has been fixed.
    • Header character encoding are now taken into account for the MIME converter adapter.
    • We added support for PKCS#8 key format in the Crypt adapter.
    • Other bugfixes.

    E2E Console 5.1.46.0 und 6.0.46.0:

    • This Console contains the E2E Runtime 2014.3.
    • Please note that you have to enable JavaScript in the browser to use the E2E Console.
    • The Console is enabled to manage Node.js services now.
    • The file name of the downloaded Bridge service logs has been improved.
    • The download of error dump files has been fixed.
    • Sorting of Bridge server log entries has been corrected.
